by Crisleda Uy-Sison, HealthToday, March 2010

Yes, you can find the solitude and pampering you crave without traveling outside the harsh metropolis.

A haven for weight watchers, Bona serves only low fat and low-calorie coffee, tea and pastries. Ask the barista to change your drink to sugar-free and it won't taste any different from regular with sugar. Thier sugar-free must have is the skinny mocha latte paired with oatmeal apple and lemon pastries. Or you can order the 45-calorie big chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, plus gentle j, the tea they claim to be thier most relaxing drink. The first few sips of this warm pick-me-up will gently glide down your tounge to soothe your throat.

If you still need your laptop wjile you relax with your coffee or tea, Bona provides free Wi-Fi connection all day long. In fact, this coffee shop doesn't close at 2am like the others do: It's open 24/7!

Guilt-free Coffee Indulgence
by Ria Fernandez, Southern Living, July/August 2008

I have yet to meet someone who does nor head straight to the pastry counter soon after entering a café. The exquisite tea sandwiches, the decadent cakes, the oversized muffins and rolls – how can one resist?

It was truly a delight to see all pastries properly labeled (including their number of calories) in Bona Coffee Company, the newest café in town. No more feeling guilty for women who are petrpetually on a diet. Enjoy your favorite coffee and muffin in a low-fat, low-calorie, and sugar-free variety. The skinny mocha latte, for example is 180 calories with only six grams of fat – reasonably half the calories and fat content of its counterpart in other cafés.

Care for good food, good coffee, and good desserts?
Written by Jennifer Ong, The Philippine Star, June 26, 2008

One bite and it takes hold of me. This humble cinnamon bun suddenly fills my mouth with buttery tenderness and spice. It was unexpected, the taste and my desire for it. But it was so damn good. Good with a strong cup of house blend coffee. Good any time, any day.

You walk into this coffee place and you find the Buddha on the wall. The mood is mellow. This is the place to make friends and enjoy long conversations. This is also the place to fall in love. Bona Coffee, after all, is all about love- sweet, guilt-free love.

Over a cup of hot coffee…A New Kid on the (Coffee) Block
by Ma. Glaiza Lee, Manila Bulletin, June 2008

"Coffee can be served and taken in various ways. It can be drip brewed, percolated, or French- pressed. It can be hot or cold, plain black or sweetened, with milk or cream.

Experiment with various concoctions. There’s the basic espresso topped with whipped cream. Add hot water for an Americano. Put steamed milk to make a good latte, or milk froth for a cappuccino.

There are many blends one can try, but there are only a few that can meet expectations, appeal to the most discriminating taste, and become a classic.

BoNa Coffee and Bohemian Nation Trading Co. Their Doors in Westgate.
Written by Betty Tiangco, Southbound.ph, May 18, 2008

BoNa Coffee has set out on its plan to conquer the world, and it’s done so in style! Well, alright, they’re not really out to conquer the world—though there are plans of expansion to Makati, Mall of Asia, and China—but they sure are expanding and growing their distinctive brand, and they’ve started with a new branch in Westgate.

The café in Westgate (near Fitness First and Kanin Club) is bigger and brighter (literally—the walls aren’t tinted this time, which makes for a slightly different, but no less cozy, atmosphere), but it’s pretty much the same BoNa: the menu is the same, a lot of the faces are the same, they’ve got their own oven churning out freshly baked muffins too (not as much variety yet as the branch in BF, but I’m sure they’ll get there soon), they’ve still got free wifi, and they’ve even got the same Buddha-esque figure serenely grazing the walls. And whaddyaknow, it still feels like home (I’m almost embarrassed to admit that it felt so much like home, I actually spent a whole day there last week).
